The Production of More Effective Cars

Recently, the car market has experienced a significant decrease in sales and production that are due to the global financial crisis. However, the car industry is passing through a period of specific modernisation, different from what we have been able to observe as a change so far.
The world reports on oil and fossil fuel prices are quite disturbing when it comes to the car industry. The reason is obvious - the massive expansion of cars as a major way of transportation has forced the oil industry to work so much that the amount of oil that had been refined for 50 years in the period from 1900 - 1950 is now refined only for a single year. And that amount is increasing. This is why the specialists say we are on the edge of reaching a critical poit in the oil extraction - our resources are getting less and the petrol prices are growing.
This of course has influenced the car industry - nowadays there almost as many researches in each company as designers. The work of these people is mainly concerned with maintaning perfect engine performance at smaller fuel demands. If we take a closer look, we will see that the cars of the 21st century are getting lighter, more aerodynamic, the shapes are somehow designed to support the movement of the car, the fuel demand of the engines are a feature that sells the car to the customers - it has become a major feature for advertising the vehicle.
And this is how the car industry is changing - fuels have become a major problem to solve and somehow car producers know that they must come up with a product that perform well but not at the cost of over demand on fuel. It is a possitive feature of the car industry and developments such as electric cars and hybrid cars such as Honda’s insight hybrid are strengthening the car industry development in the direction of fuel saving vehicles.
